Name: Rinwell
Canon: Tales of Arise
Canon Point: Just after arriving on Rena
Age: 14

History/Personality:
Wikia page. Her page doesn't have much at all, though, so I'm going to do a few bullet points for her.
•Rinwell’s family was taken from her when a Renan lord found her family of mages and killed all but her. This, coupled with the general hierarchy of Renans enslaving Dahnans, as well as the way Ganabelt himself ruled the land she lived in, caused a deep distrust of Renans within her. In the beginning, Rinwell is somewhat hostile toward Shionne and Dohalim, and makes rude comments about Renans in general.
•It isn’t until Almeidrea’s death, the lord who killed her family, that she begins to grow and see that there are good Renans and bad Renans, just as there are good Dahnans and bad Dahnans. Her friends, Law in particular, help her realize that there’s life past taking revenge and the act of doing so can put a great weight on one’s shoulders rather than lift the weight they were previously bearing. She realizes that killing Almeidrea wouldn’t bring her parents back or lift the cloud of guilt and hatred from her, so she slowly learns to live her life to the fullest rather than be bogged down by revenge and self-hatred.
•She often believed that being a mage made her a monster or an outcast from her fellow Dahnans, because of the stigma that came with being the only Dahnans to be capable of using magic, but by the end of the game, she’s able to instead think of her magic as something that can be good. Sure, it made her life more difficult than some, but magic has kept her and more importantly her friends safe, and has contributed a lot to their quest to save the world. She’s finally accepted who she is and come to terms with everything, to the best of her ability.
•Due to all her fellow mages dying, she was left with only Hootle as her friend (until she joined the party), so it’s natural for her to have difficulties getting close to people. Thanks to Cyslodia’s back-stabbing populace, it isn’t really until she joins the party that she’s able to trust another person again. Likely due to all this, she has a tendency to keep certain feelings bottled up. She keeps the revenge she’s seeking for her parents’ deaths a secret from everyone until the time comes for her to enact it, and aside from small comments here and there asking if she’s a monster for her magic, she doesn’t tend to talk much about that either. She’s not one to quickly trust others and dump her feelings on them.
•However, she can be quite honest when it comes to other things. She’s always blunt when it comes to making fun of Law, and she’ll let someone know if she likes something, such as sugary sweets. And if she dislikes someone, she’ll certainly say it — she absolutely didn’t hold back when it came to taking out her hatred on Renans in the beginning.
•Though in terms of understanding her feelings, sometimes she needs time. One particular instance of understanding her feelings is in regards to Law. It’s clear she has feelings for him, from the way she blushes when he’s brought up in certain situations to how close she is to him out of everyone in the group. He’s the closest in age to her and they rather quickly took to each other, teasing and arguing but also having each other’s backs when it was necessary. She hasn’t really gotten a chance to understand how she feels yet, but that’s teenage love for you.
•Finally, Hootle. Hootle, her pet owl, is essentially her family at this point. He was her only companion between losing her family members and joining the party. She takes great care of him, keeping him safe, properly fed, and having him practice flying to offset his obsession with sitting on her shoulder (he’s got to keep those wings healthy!). She’d do just about anything for Hootle, and the same can be said for him. He’ll even try to protect her from enemies, despite the fact that he’s just a baby owl. They’re two of a kind and always attached at the hip, making each other their priority. In the end of the owl collecting sidequest, she tries to leave him with his own kind, because she thinks it’d be best for him even despite her own feelings. But he refuses, truly cementing their bond as inseparable family.

Would you consider your character to be heroic? Why or why not?: Not entirely — kind of in between, moving toward heroic a bit. I don't believe she's as pure-intentioned as most heroes are, especially considering her desire for revenge in the beginning half of the game. She does plenty of good deeds, sure, and is even willing to risk herself for things she believes in, but at her core, in the end, she's a child who just wants to help her friends and her planet. She's much of the way there, but she's a bit more selfish than I normally picture "heroic" to be.

Powers/Abilities: Here is a list of her artes on wikia. She's able to cast multiple elemental types of magic, in addition to a couple buffs. She's also able to "store" spells in her book — either stolen from enemies or after she's casted it herself — in order to use it later. She can either use it normally or use it to upgrade her next spell if they're compatible (i.e. two first level water spells turn into a level two spell).
Inventory: She'll have her clothing on her back, her book "Nature's Beauty: 3rd Ed." (which contains photos of Dahnan nighttime landscapes and can be used for storing spells), and Hootle, her pet baby Dahnan owl. He has no special skills and is merely an owl.

Coterie: Eagles!
